Abstrak: Penelitian tentang rekrutmen karang di Pulau Nusa Lembongan telah dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret sampai Agustus 2006, bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis, kelimpahan, serta pola bertahan hidup rekrutmen karang. Metode yang dipergunakan manta tow survey, analisa citra satelit, line intercept transect, dan rekrutmen karang dengan rak penelitian. Penelitian rekrumen karang menemukan 9 jenis planula karang dengan 155 individu, yang terdiri dari: Acropora millepora, Acropora palifera, Acropora tenuis, Fungia fungites, Montipora digitata, Pocillopora damicormis, Porites sp, Seriatopora hystrix, dan Stylophora pistillata. Pada kondisi arus yang relatif kuat dan konsisten 54,43% planula menempel pada subsrat miring membelakangi arus, dan 80% planula menempel pada subsrat tegak membelakangi arus pada area yang memiliki tingkat sedimentasi yang tinggi. 

Kata kunci: rekrutmen karang, rak penelitian, dan planula karang.


Abstract: Nusa Lembongan Island coral recruitment research had been conducted at March until August 2006, to divine species, diversity, and surviving pattern of coral recruitment. Utilized methods are manta tow survey, remote sensing, line intercept transect, and coral recruitment method with racks research. The study of coral recruitment was found 9 species coral planula with 155 species consists of: Acropora millepora, Acropora palifera, Acropora tenuis, Fungia fungites, Montipora digitata, Pocillopora damicormis, Porites sp, Seriatopora hystrix, and Stylophora pistillata. In strong current it is relatively strong and consistent 54.43% of planula attaches in oblique overshadow the current. and 80% of planula attaches in straightening overshadow the current in the area with high level of sedimentation.
